As so many of my dear friends are aware, today is the beginning of what one person called "The most wonderful time of the year." I, for one, prefer Christmas. The reason for this has something to do with presents, Jesus, and the fact that football is, in fact, happening all throughout Advent. It's a win-win.
So tonight kicks off the season with Georgia Tech playing someone, I don't know who. Apparently Tech is going to be sporting the Triple-Option. This is basically an offense built around a guy running as fast as he can with the ball and just before being completely leveled to the ground, he pitches it to another really fast guy who will then repeat the same process.
If you're really really fast, you score a touchdown. If you don't, you're probably going to get leveled to the ground. I, of course, find this offense incredibly entertaining.
So my friend Al said that she thought that Tech would go 9-3 on the season. Bold prediction, Al. I figure 7-5 or maybe 8-3. But I'm not really qualified because I am a Georgia fan.
Gasp.
I know, I know. Save it. I've heard it all before. I stand by it.
And with that, despite the fact that UGA is preseason #1 in both polls, I'm going to say that they will go 10-2 like last year with a birth in some BCS bowl.
Please, please, Georgia. Prove me wrong.
So with that- What are your predictions for your favorite teams?
Tatum.
