This is insanely interesting. There are thousands of people in the world who love Dumbledore, but maintain a strongly negative opinion of the gay community. Because of this, it was a genius move on the part of Rowling to announce this. How will Christian evangelicals react? Well, that is pretty easily predicted. But how will this affect all of those moderate conservatives and centrist out there that, if they are honest, have an aversion to all things gay? Will they love Dumbledore just the same? Very very interesting.
